    South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

Kyle Simmonds has been very good for WP for some time. Lovely action too. Another slow left-armer.

They seemingly sticking by Reeza but it's just painful because it's not the same case as backing a Mulder and potentially coming out with a high ceiling at the end of it.

Yeah, I guess it's a bit of both for Simetu and Kaplan but they were lost in the wilderness for quite some time. Club system helped pick them back up. De Villiers & Bedja also still went to Wynberg but can't remember if they played WP U19s or not.

    South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

Interesting this Matthew De Villiers is on debut for the Warriors and 60* 4th player plucked from WP club system in recent months impressing at provincial level after Kaplan, Simetu and Bedja.

Meanwhile in Durban it's dark dark dark as usual 😂 Subrayen spinning a web. Just got his 3rd & Daniel Smith reckons he wasn't out. Game is in the balance there. Should be a good game for a close one.

Robbie P loves chopping and changing and giving players responsibility. He looks a responsible sort.

That's painful 😖 Just saw his dismissal. A good one from Migael but looks like he thinks he didn't touch it.

Looks like Klaasen and Stubbs only South Africans retained by IPL franchises. The rest go into the auction.

*Official* South Africa in Bangladesh: Two Test Series, 21-25 Oct, 29 Oct-2 Nov 2024

In those early year loads of English professionals would come to SA & coach our schools and clubs. Helping form the foundation for our cricket. Carried on till the 90s at least that there were a few around. Guys like Herbie Taylor and Faulkner coached in England and came back here to coach as...

Thank you for this. I was watching an insert on Sri Lankan cricket and they still say certain sections of the island only now coming to terms with cricket still. I was thinking you were Bengali people like those in India that had some sort of background with cricket since their times I do...

    South Africa team selection

Nortje, Coetzee, Burger can hit 150 so the 3 quickest easily. Kwena was getting it up to 147 in the Windies & Tristan Luus is also young & gets it into the 140s. They the two quickest youngsters. In the SA20 Rabada, Dupavillon, Williams, Dala, Viljoen were among those who bowled most balls...

    South Africa team selection

Burger did well against India earlier this year so seemed someone capable of stepping up. But sounds like he is out for a while like Williams. I assume it is Coetzee and then Ngidi for the home summer now. Kwena must play some FC games rather than carry drinks. Defo play him vs England Lions.

Seems strange. A punishment for not being contracted? You imagine both are available. KG being rested is understandable.

Has to be. Piedt had more assistance last game too. But against good teams we could do with variety.

Seems so. I don't think he actually cares much to come back. So what is that by player type? Top-order: R Hendricks, Rickelton, Markram Middle-Order: Stubbs, Klaasen, Miller, Ferreira Middle-order/seam: Kruger, Simelane, Mpongwana Spinners: Maharaj, Peter Seamers: Baartman, Jansen, Coetzee...
