Are South Africa batting for the draw?

Would cricinfo have a clue about any of it? I don’t think the updates are done by anyone with any local knowledge these days.

Crazy that Henry’s average is still 36 coming into this test.

How did Matt Horne get away with that! 😂

Oh I absolutely love him as well. Part of me doesn’t want him to play again and further destroy his average haha. It was in the 26’s for so long!

That's not even scratching the surface, there was also: i) Lance Cairns intimidatory bowling call vs Jim Higgs j) Nathan Lyon hot spot k) Steve Waugh and Gillespie caught behinds Perth 01 l) Chris Cairns elite bowling Langer plum Daryl Harper denial m) Haddin stump demolishment vs Neil Broom...

Btw, I think he had a fitting farewell last season. The Basin win against England where he triggered a comeback and took the winning wicket. And then the encore being limping out there to be at the other end when Kane won it for us off the final ball vs Sri Lanka. He’s been a great servant, but...

He was injured, he missed a couple of Plunket Shield games with a back injury. But yep, he’s heading down the Chris Martin/Mark Gillespie route where their final few years were as perpetual 12th man for the Blackcaps’ test team.

I can't believe it's been eight years since Australia last played tests here. For a country that is three hours flight away, that's madness. Henry, Latham, Santner, Southee, Wagner and Williamson are the only survivors in the squad from back then. Actually surprised it's that many. Nicholls...

It seems like he's played a lot less for us since he signed the casual agreement, which is weird haha.

Going by the World Cup, after a diet of T20 leagues he's pretty much past it anyway. The attack we played against Pakistan did well. Why would you break that up to bring back someone who's looking ineffectual and must be close to retirement? He made his choice. Our contracted players deserve...

Yep that was the series my mind went to as well. Unless you go back to 85/86.

Overthinking things a bit here, when we had Jamieson bowling a traditional spell they nicked two through a vacant first slip. Good on South Africa for showing fight though.

Impact was umpire's call, so would have stayed not out.

So it's out, it was given out, but it's not out because it was given out for the wrong reason lol. Classic cricket.

I think he’ll be fine and continue to improve, it’s pretty amazing he’s playing at this stage at all. Standard rehab for an ACL is 9-12 months, and he was back in 6. But there will be pain for the next year or so until he’s fully recovered. And yeah, I’m pretty sure Crowe would have been fine...

Percentage of hundreds per innings is an interesting one to look at, Williamson dominating this metric for current players, and for anyone hovering around the 100 test mark. Table hasn’t been updated with his 31st yet, either. http://www.howstat.com/cricket/statistics/batting/BattingHundreds7.asp

He averages 45.4 away, you’re not including the neutral UAE tests or the WTC final.
