    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

That means you will have the likes of Barrington and Kallis quite low in your all time list.

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

The vice versa is also true isn’t it? If Viv was more patient in the 1983 Final, WI could have won another World Cup. But the guy was in a hurry and was over confident. Gavaskar helped India to many draws. I do not think Viv could do it. TBH he didn’t have the need since his pacers could take...

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

Is there any batsman who has a perfect record? Obviously Bradman doesn’t count. Sachin is the closest in my opinion. He played against 9 countries and averages 40+ against all those countries. He played in 10 countries and averages 40+ in all of them.

ODI : Tougher bowler to score runs against - Garner vs Ambrose vs McGrath vs Pollock vs Bumrah

Gavin Larsen. He wasn’t even a good bowler but very difficult to score. In 1990s he had the second best economy rate among bowlers who had taken a minimum of 100 wickets.

ODI : Tougher bowler to score runs against - Garner vs Ambrose vs McGrath vs Pollock vs Bumrah

During his career(1992-1997) FDV had the second best economy rate.

ODI : Tougher bowler to score runs against - Garner vs Ambrose vs McGrath vs Pollock vs Bumrah

I am not comparing their economy rates. Just pointing out these four were the toughest to score against in their respective eras.

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

Virat’s failures have made me respect Sachin even more. It shows how tough it is to be at the highest level for a very long time in test cricket.

ODI : Tougher bowler to score runs against - Garner vs Ambrose vs McGrath vs Pollock vs Bumrah

I never saw Joel Garner play but read and heard stories on how he was almost impossible to play. Curtly Ambrose, Shaun Pollock and Jasprit Bumrah were the toughest bowlers to score runs against in their respective eras in one day international cricket.

ODI : Tougher bowler to score runs against - Garner vs Ambrose vs McGrath vs Pollock vs Bumrah

I am not asking who is the greater bowler. Just who is more difficult to score runs against.

    Dennis Lillee vs Allan Donald

With the exception of his mediocre record against Australia, Allan Donald’s record is almost perfect just like his beautiful action

    Dennis Lillee vs Allan Donald

Two of the fiercest fast bowlers of all time

    Garry Sobers vs Imran Khan

Patterson or Clarke? Who was faster?
  13. DrWolverine

    Herbert Sutcliffe vs Jack Hobbs

Any particular reason why Hobbs is rated higher than Sutcliffe despite the latter having an overall better record? Is Herbert Sutcliffe the most underrated batsman? Maybe the legendary but underrated Ken Barrington can compete with him. He has one of the best records out there but for some...

I do not agree but okay

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

40 in England(15 Tests) 49 in WestIndies(5 Tests) 66 in Srilanka(1 Test) 71 in NewZealand(8 Tests) 76 in Pakistan(3 Tests) I agree he did not play much outside England. Lillee and Chappell avoided travelling outside. From what I heard it was due to them not able to like the hotel

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

Except for Bradman, pretty much everything else is debatable and it basically comes down to an opinion. Sachin vs Hobbs vs Smith Sobers vs Kallis Marshall vs Hadlee Warne vs Muralitharan
  18. DrWolverine

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

So was Chappell. Viv had a better peak. Greg was way more consistent and has an almost perfect all round record. It again comes down to peak vs consistency

    Steve Waugh vs Michael Holding

This is a battle between a pure physical specimen and the living embodiment of grit and determination
