  • Staying at home (seems like the easy option whilst I don't know anyone). Going into the halls in the second year though to get that full university experience. Where did you stay?
Yeah, got the A Level results on Thurday (or was it Wednesday, can't remember). Went well getting ABB and so a place in University of Liverpool. Thanks for the thought GIMH, really appreciate it :)
Not quite the same but I do feel your pain in a way. I haven't had a chance to watch as much live cricket this English summer as I usually have (I've seen extended highlights packages and delayed coverage of most days but it's not the same obv), and today was going to be one of the few days I'd be able to just sit in front of my TV with my laptop and post in the match thread.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said today as well, and I'm far from the most positive person ever. :p
It's one of those weird situations where I think not watching as much live cricket can actually get you ~more~ perspective. Watching England play terribly live often seems worse than it really is, especially when you read the typically knee-jerking match thread while you're doing it.
Well I'm kind of back-tracking in my small mind ATM, all I wanted from him was about a 33 average with the ball and a similar batting performance, he's never going to be a great at either.

Yet with the ball he was solid in county cricket and A team performances for a couple of years, it's amazing that people, and that includes Warne and Nasser, just look at his overall record on cricinfo and decide he's a part-timer.
Nevermind eh. I try not to dwell too much on endings, I still loved the show on the whole. I think it's what made Breaking Bad so good though; the whole premise meant it couldn't really outlive itself so the ending was never going to be too contrived
I agree with you. In retrospect, that whole twist of "this is how I met your Aunt Robin" in the pilot boxed them into a corner and they did a really bad job of getting themselves out of it. It really should have ended at the train station (someone even made a really well-edited alternative ending to that effect and posted it to YouTube; it was taken down by the show via copyright infringement claim).
I haven't seen any of those shows unfortunately. I have heard rave reviews about The Shield from people whose opinion I respect. I just never had the time to watch it myself. I feel like such a failure as a "guru" for not providing you feedback on those shows! Let me give you some tips on some other shows instead to make up for it. Since both Sons and Shield are serious dramas, I will recommend two recent dramas to you: True Detective and Fargo. Both are excellent and an added advantage is that they are both anthologies and hence the story wraps up in only one season. Excellent plot, direction, and acting on both shows. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

By the way, what did you think of the HIMYM finale? Did you hate it like me or were you ok with it?
    Kl - Doha - Paris

Having second thoughts altogether though. Im travelling to South America next year, without going home, and Im not sure if I want to take a laptop there!
Wish I could change plans but I got a flight from Jakarta in two weeks to Paris
