Working my way to retaining Gold Status. I have 18 flights between now and the end of April (two of those personal, the rest for work) when my status period is up for renewal. Gold status will be comfortably retained!
Retained last Sunday.

Former All Black and current sort-of billionaire Ali Williams on the ferry back from Waiheke on Saturday.

His group, consisting of the semi-famous and entrepreneurial (including his wealthy wife), ended up seated next to my group, consisting of extremely drunk idiots trying (with quite a lot of success tbh) to involve the ferry passengers in singalongs.

At one point Ali loudly suggested we "sing some NWA" and I let out an impromptu "**** the Police comin straight from the underground" which was a risky ploy but actually received with raucous laughter.

None of the above should be taken as any sort of endorsement of the Mowbray/Williams alliance, who I am inclined to think are not good people. There's no doubt though that he's the sort of charismatic man who it's fun to meet drunk for half an hour.
