Which duo was more successful…
Well
Chappell/Lillee 30/64 wins (46.9%)
Ponting/McGrath 63/85 wins (74.1%)
Smith/Cummins 34/58 wins (58.6%)
not close.
As to which duo was more crucial to their team’s success…. I’d go with Smith and Cummins followed by Chappell and Lillee.
