Because in the next 75 years, we have not seen even one batsman who has come even remotely close to him.
Which is why we he is a clear no 1 imo. But the gap to the next best ATGs isn't as big as it is made out to be. For example, there were quite a few comparison threads recently with the format:Because in the next 75 years, we have not seen even one batsman who has come even remotely close to him.
This is the average player fwiw (post WWI)Which is why we he is a clear no 1 imo. But the gap to the next best ATGs isn't as big as it is made out to be. For example, there were quite a few comparison threads recently with the format:
Bradman+Avg player vs 2 ATGs
I don't think Bradman is that good to warrant him compensating for 2 ATGs.
Bradman + X = Hobbs + MarshallThis is the average player fwiw (post WWI)
I mean, Hobbs and Marshall aren't just ATG's, one is the best in his primary discipline, the other is arguably the second best. If the equation wasBradman + X = Hobbs + Marshall
How good should be according to you for this equation to be true? Give a few examples.
What about the Hobbs and Marshall oneI mean, Hobbs and Marshall aren't just ATG's, one is the best in his primary discipline, the other is arguably the second best. If the equation was
Bradman + X = Walsh + Weekes, I'm ready to take Siraj.
X=Jadeja, but he's no average. What about the Hobbs and Marshall one
Fair enough then. Coincidentally, the exact person who came into my mind was Ravindra Jadeja too.X=Jadeja, but he's no average.
I mean, is it really a coincidence?Fair enough then. Coincidentally, the exact person who came into my mind was Ravindra Jadeja too.
Well you’ve got a bowler and a batsmen… the average test bowler since 1920 averages 32.10.. so using that as a baseline, I’ll take Zaheer Khan + Don Bradman > Jack Hobbs + Malcolm MarshallBradman + X = Hobbs + Marshall
How good should be according to you for this equation to be true? Give a few examples.
Jack Hobbs + Marshall easily better imoWell you’ve got a bowler and a batsmen… the average test bowler since 1920 averages 32.10.. so using that as a baseline, I’ll take Zaheer Khan + Don Bradman > Jack Hobbs + Malcolm Marshall
lol. Underrating both Bradman and Zaheer is pretty impressiveJack Hobbs + Marshall easily better imo
ExactlyEven Bradman wasn't ranked as far ahead of Trumper, Hobbs etc as he is now
People will always be idiots, no matter the timeEven Bradman wasn't ranked as far ahead of Trumper, Hobbs etc as he is now
@peterhrt had literally referred to this in his posts.Because in the next 75 years, we have not seen even one batsman who has come even remotely close to him.
There's probably only two combination of players that I'm taking above Hobbs and Marshall. What about the Hobbs and Marshall one
Bradman + Decent bowler? There's probably only two combination of players that I'm taking above Hobbs and Marshall.
