    I went for the 2005 Ashes - says it all that even my cricket hating then wife got caught up in the excitement of it all India v West Indies in 74/75 worth a shout too - first two Tests to the visitors and then India winning the next two - shame the decider wasn't closer though

    That there have been 17 books/booklets devoted to Trumper published in the last ten years and just one on Rhodes says it all for me - that said at least the one on Rhodes is a definitive biography, and we still haven't had one of those on Vic, though I believe that one may be being worked on

    Even if they don't recruit Lancs should be good enough to get out of Division 2, but I get the impression there's a general malaise in the dressing room which they have to resolve before that will happen

    Fair comment on Mud, but a bit hard on Asif - he was a proper bowler in his youth, and only started bowling those military medium wobblers when his dodgy back ended his days as a quick - but then what a wonderful batsman he became - a very special talent :)
