    English Domestic Season 2025

Me too. My lack of teccie prowess being the reason why I couldn't keep it going.

    English Domestic Season 2025

In fairness, our old sparring partner (well I used to love winding him up prodigiously), Sir Virgs from cricket247, always did say that their bowlers were their best batters!

*Official* Zimbabwe in England (One Off Test)

Oh, I'm aware of who has tried and essentially failed. However, my belief is that England go up against two big sides who have more obvious flaws than the previous times that England have played them, but there are 3 spots with players who are far below the performance levels that you would...

*Official* Zimbabwe in England (One Off Test)

I have to say that his continued selection, along with that of Bashir really irk me. There has been no need to perform either at test level, or county level. The only alternative opener that has been tried, was Dan Lawrence when Crawley was injured and you don't need to know jack about batting...

    Should India bring back Pujara?

Doesn't makes sense for the reasons set out above. If two guys have decided to retire at a similar age to him, why bring back a guy who hasn't been in much form at all before then not playing any fc cricket for the last 3 months? If it means younger guys learning a hard lesson or two then so be it.

    English Domestic Season 2025

Perhaps they need the Pakistani fans like they used in the series last year, if they are not already using them at Ciderbad!

    English Domestic Season 2025

Probably says as much about the quality of the spinners as it does the wickets. Harmer for one seems to be on the down slope and the English lads are either not really that good or still learning their trade. That said, I think when we say 'hot' we are talking relative. It's not like it has been...

    **Official** English Football Season 2024/25

Him wearing a Man United shirt ahead of signing for them wasn't taken well round my way, to say the least. That said, we never ended up playing against him for circa 5 yearsdue to us yo-yoing and him being injured against us in between. I was at Upton Park for his first return. It was very...

    **Official** English Football Season 2024/25

My only take on this that the last time we have seen a similar situation in the EPL with such a high profile player leaving a club on a free was when Sol Campbell saw out his contract for Spurs and moved to Arsenal. That was pretty huge because of the obvious rivalry between the two clubs.

    English Domestic Season 2025

It doesn't make much sense him preparing such a road when Surrey are at least two main bowlers down on what would be their first choice XI.

*Official* Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025

Must be a fair chance of the England series being at risk if this does go on?

    Lions tour 2025

I was going to mention my unease at the number of 'assimilated' players making this squad. The Springboks went to town on the last tour when the Lions were talking about learning Afrikaans phrases. They simply replied to ask Duhan!

Ball is staying low on artificial grass

I am surprised at this. In the non-turf pitches that I play on (although I am sidelined this season due to a hernia), many NTPs bounce quite significantly more than the low/slow surfaces that pervade, particularly at this time of year.

Murali vs Hadlee - who had more impact?

Possibly you can say that Hadlee was slightly better against the best opposition. Hadlee was very good v West Indies. Murali, ordinary against Australia, especially away and less good against the Indian batters of the day on their own soil.

Yeah, I mentioned the other day that he rather too easily got seen off by Dan Worrall at a sort of leg gully not playing a short ball too well and Worrall is hardly rapid.
