Yup, seems the overriding factor doesn't it. Finance.I vote for 9 professional teams with 17 contracted players, and 9.5 matches per season... but I`m unsure if that is enough savings for CSA, which is the most important aspect.
Money talks ! Just like in rugby free state must not be as big a profit and proteas making team.Ridiculous. I would be absolutely fuming if I was Freestate. Ok if we get relegated but if KZN or EP is in danger then we change the system.
The point of the system was to make all games relevant. Going back to one division is a step backwards.
Option one seems better from a perspective of depth for 18 x 8 quality players than semi professional just below it's unsustainable to have current structure especially with the fact they can't get fans into the grounds. These are the 2 proposals. Meeting on 10 March that supposedly will include important SA cricket minds.

No idea! Thought the same. How does 8 teams playing 10 matches each work?
It means grounds like East London who is hosting world cup games & one of our largest Black African populations wouldn't be playing professional cricket.Option one seems better from a perspective of depth for 18 x 8 quality players than semi professional just below it's unsustainable to have current structure especially with the fact they can't get fans into the grounds.
That sort of structure makes sense to cut down travelling, but it's not like there's any natural division from a geographical perspective. No idea! Thought the same.
Only way is split into 2 4s. You play your group H/A & then play the other 4 teams in the other group once but doubt that.
Luus has an absolutely beautiful action, just so fluid and athletic.Tristan Luus
Pace and accuracy. Slight in-nip. Going far in the game.
This WP team is a joke though.
Wp my team deserve relegation at this point maybe that would wake up the powers that be.Tristan Luus

Without doubt the best BA batting talent.Good to see Seletswane debut for the Lions , it didn't work out for him but he comes with a big reputation in SA schools , hopefully he can become a star bat
I don’t know how much Phelukwayo we are going to see anymore tbh. Mulder is clearly the first choice all rounder across formats and with reason as well. Simelane has upside but he needs to start putting it together. What I find interesting is the class players are the class players. Dewald Brevis, Jordan Hermann, Lhuandre Pretorius get runs in all formats and tournaments.
Whereas Rubin Hermann did well in the SA20 but not being dominant in the 50-over competition. SR too has been iffy where it's not an issue in T20.
Mitchell van Buuren had a couple of decent SA20 knocks but they were only run-a-ball stuff & got left out PR team at the back end but now him & Parsons are showing good consistency in the One-Day Cup. Both versatile in positions they can adapt too.
Esterhuizen hasn't done anything of serious significance but he is playing cameos at 5/6 in SA20 and One-Day Cup and getting 50+ scores.
The 3rd column is more about opportunities or needing to show a dominance still at domestic level.
Ruan de Swardt is probably longest format only. He needs to bat higher like in a Forrester role if he wants to make a name for himself. Pillay is similar to them.
Whereas I think Simelane & Whitehead are quite versatile in roles they can come into. Although Whitehead could probably bat 3/4-7 whereas Simelane is more middle order only.
