It wouldn't if Australia weren't in it though. And you wouldn't be able to play it there until about 9 months after the cycle had finished.MCG would get big crowd, bigger than the suburban sized grounds the UK has

You could play it in March as Shield season still ongoingIt wouldn't if Australia weren't in it though. And you wouldn't be able to play it there until about 9 months after the cycle had finished.
Home is where you first come from, now where was the first test match? It's a celebration of test cricket and should be at the home of cricket. Except when England makes it, but that is always unlikely.
Or you could have a drop in pitch anytime at Docklands, anytime of the year, and guaranteed no rain issues and still have a bigger crowd than any English groundYou could play it in March as Shield season still ongoing

Given that SAf are the best side in the group the chances are England beating them at all, let alone thrashing them, must be a thousandth of one per cent. Two games left with 3 teams still in it. The reality is due to SA having a fantastic NRR they will be in the semi-final with the winner of Aus vs Afg. Here are the technical scenarios
Afghanistan: beat Aus they're in semi, lose and they're out. If washout they need Eng to beat SA by a huge margin for Afg to have better NRR than SA
Australia: beat Afg (or washout) they're in semi, lose and they need Eng to beat SA by a large margin for Aus to have better NRR than SA
South Africa: in semi if Aus beat Afg (SA vs Eng then dead rubbber). If Afg beat Aus (or washout) then SA in semi if they beat Eng (or washout) or if they lose to Eng but their NRR is higher than Aus (or Afg)
Apparently it was surprisingly low. Around 10 degrees for most of the ballsWould like to know what the actual angle was? 14.99?
