The 2002 series at home shouldn't be considered at all, that's literally the first series he played after messing up his shoulder in SL. But I'm with you on this one.

They bring up Lara vs flatter spinners like Kumble and Saqlain (one series vs Saqlain btw) but then ignore the same flatter type spinners that he slaughtered like Kaneria, Tufnell, etc. And I keep stressing that the Indian bowlers who actually bettered Lara ironically, were their seamers. Fine, Kumble got him out a few times but if you play someone often enough, you are bound to fall to them at some point. Doesnt mean they had the wood over you.

But yeah the notion Lara was unproven vs spin flat or whatever other bs they like to make up is nonsense. In the grand scheme of things, Lara man handled the two greatest spinners ever. Next, you know who, like he did b4 will post a clip of Lara being circumpect vs Murali to prove an irrelevant point.....
Lara is greatest player of spin. He did struggle initially in 94 series but scored a fine 91 in last test at mohali. Imo its shame that we here in india couldn't see best of prince of Trinidad unlike viv or sobers who have atg knocks in india. And also harbi being flat? 🤣😂 harbi actually had ability to turn the ball on any surface thats why he has better numbers in sena then ashwin

He doesn't. Not even close.

Harbi:
Aus: 9@73
Eng: 14@50
SA: 18@34
NZ: 21@24

SENA: 62@40

Ash:
Aus: 40@42
Eng: 18@28
SA: 11@49
NZ: 3@33

SENA: 72@40

Harbhajan's record is much more based on bullying a weak NZ than anything.

Imo, the greatest player of spin I've seen was Sehwag. He just treated each and every spinner with utter disdain.

Spin is spin. Fact of the matter is, Lara was great vs spin and dominated the 2 goats. When you start to nit pick the one or two times he didn't dominate a lesser bowler it's annoying and screams personal bias. Why? Because with almost every batsman you can pick out a bowler or two who gave them issues every now and then.
Again stop being silly. Nobody is saying Lara isn't ATG against spin man.

The 'nitpicking' is only in chats about greatest players of spin where it's relevant. You make it seem like it's being brought ever second sentence.

It is by Subz. Every chance you get. And the fact that others have pointed out to you shows that I'm not the only one who notices.

Well I am glad others point it out because now we know Lara had that little blemish as an FYI. You don't need to suppress this fact.

But in the grand scheme, he will always be ATG against spin and anyone who suggests otherwise is just wrong.

Whatever it takes!!!
Lol @ the continuing idiocy about Lara Vs spin. I am amazed that those who actually watched just KNOW he was the best player of spin by far over the past 50 years and yet guys who dont even watch an over of cricket wanna argue coz they looked up a scorecard and dont know any better beyond their own biases.

Waugh was voted in at #19 last year which seems pretty reasonable to me even with his lower batting position

How are Kane, Kohli and Younis above de Villiers?

I'd personally rate Kohli above Younis. Did well against better attacks in Australia and South Africa. And had one brilliant tour in England. Younis was easily a better player of spin though.
Younis faced McWarne in Australia.

Younis simply is more productive overall in his career.
