Consensus is only applicable when it supports your views. So, no.
lol. But yeah talking about a consensus I assumed we were talking about players/media rating. Not random youtube commenters. I mean peer rating sucks but social media commenters are about 1000x worse.

I bet if you were to find a video on a specific bowler everyone in the comments would call them the greatest. I recently saw this myself with Waqar.

I wasn't serious tbf. And yeah, Malcolm Marshall is called the GoAT only when the video is about him, and that's what I was weaponizing lol.

Faulkner wasn't a no.7 batsman.

SA XI:-
Barry Richards
Trevor Goddard
Jacques Kallis
Graeme Pollock
AB De Villiers+
Aubrey Faulkner
Mike Procter
Shaun Pollock
Hugh Tayfield
Dale Steyn
Allan Donald
12th man:- Dudley Nourse

Don't think the number of AR's should be a concern. If a team has a lot of great All rounders, the XI should reflect that.
Why Goddard over Graeme Smith? As a batter

Ok that's a great point.
I won't have Barlow over Smith or Mitchell here, as he will basically be a 6th/7th bowler alongside Kallis; but captaincy is certainly not a point in favour of Smith over Barlow of all people. Barlow was an exceptionally strong captain, especially at man management. Smith was good, but don't think he was spectacular at anything really.
