Not so rare air

Smith, 205 innings, 10,140 runs @ 56.33, 35 hundreds
Ponting, 205 innings, 10,357 runs @ 57.86, 36 hundreds
Yeah, it's sometimes important to keep this in perspective.

I would say he's a head of Punter, but also think about if Ponting had retired at this stage.

Procter played 3 tests in the 60s and 4 in 1970.
Ineligible imo
Good point but I think I might have found a way around this. There's a recent thread about cutting a player's career into two halves and we could do the same thing here:

1st Procter:

2nd Procter:

From the numbers, 2nd Procter > 1st Procter (batting, bowling, and (4 catches vs. 0) fielding) and is confined exclusively to the 1970s. 2nd Procter can be one of the top 5 Test cricketers since 1970! Now, I know that some will object and say that 2nd Procter played just four Tests but when has that ever stopped a past South African cricketer from being regarded by many as an ATG? ;)

Man 1st Procter was a scrub.

Charisma plays a big role in creating an aura around the player and makes him better than he actually is

Ignoring the trolling

McGrath was the most important player for one of the two greatest teams of all time. Hard to beat that.
Not trolling lol. Just that I thought you placed a great importance on being slip, but it seems that you don't.
