You misunderstand; in his world Sri Lanka in the last ten years are definitionally, axiomatically bad. Any achievements of theirs is no proof of quality, just proof that everyone is even worse, as to acknowledge otherwise would be to contradict that idea that Modern Cricketers Suck.

This is also much closer to the pitch in 2022 where SL won by an innings and plenty, as opposed to the rank turner where Aus won comfortably.
