Recently before Sydney test Allan boarder said - well i am a fan of both lara and sachin tendulkar, i love their batting more than anyone else but Steve smith is the best since Bradman.

And statistically Steve Smith is playing in the most bowling friendly era since last 60 years.
Most test with 60+ career average -
1- Sutcliffe -54
2- don Bradman -49
3- spd Smith -43

Most consecutive test with 55+ test AVG
1- Steve Smith -77*
2- Gary sobers -74
3- sachin tendulkar -65
4- ponting -56
It is quite funny when someone says Sachin was more consistent than Steve Smith.

Sachin got around 1700-1800 free runs at around 90 AVG against farmers,
In current era every team has a bowler with<28 bowling average.

See the drastic difference between sachin era and the current era

In 90s era Sachin against the toothless bowlers of NZ ,sl, eng - 2990 runs at 75.76 AVG with 13 centuries.

Yet another thread were OP declares who are the best ever in cricket. News flash, Smith is not even best since Bradman in his home country

Let me guess, you're another one looking at Ponting's overall stats after playing on for the team years after he was past it. Ponting averaged 60 or high 50's for years before he got old. Smith will have same decline that's already started
I don't care for averages, I just don't think Ponting ever had a series on par with BGT 2017 or Ashes 2019, he was always underperforming in England and India, his two biggest rivals.

oh wow, the lineup of Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland is better than the bowling lineups of Ashish Nehra, Venkatesh Prasad, Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan
Exactly, Sachin played with **** bowling line ups almost throughout his career especially away from home

Now you have left left to argue lol

Sachin in 90s against the farmers of sl,NZ,eng - 2990 runs at 75.76 with 13 centuries.
Steve Smith playing more than 74 percent against top 4 ,
Sachin doesn't deserve to be compared with don Bradman and Steve Smith.

Unlike Viv, Smith hasn’t had a steep decline(so far)

Smith has played 98 out of 114 Tests against SENPA. Sobers played 38 out of 93 Tests against PIN. Sobers averages 23 against NZ in

Unlike Sachin, Smith has had a monster series. He has also reached a higher peak than him.

It is not entirely wrong to say Smith is the best since Bradman.

There is a chance he can end up as the best since Bradman.
