Full list of number one test batters

Molehill

Cricketer Of The Year
Interesting that in 2015, 3 big names all got on there, and there's only been 3 to have got on in the 10 years since.

Gilchrist is kind of a surprise, I'm guessing he's the only number 7 on there. Hard to score the weight of runs required from that far down the order.

Immenso

International Vice-Captain
I remembered Jimmy Adam's being umber 1 at the time, so not a surprise to me, even though retrospectively it seems strange from a whole of career perspective.

The one that does surprise me is Gambhir. Don't remember that happening, and only ever saw him as a pretty good player.

So in the last 50 years, all no 1 ranked batsman have been good/great batsmen except 1 mid guy
Who?
Jimmy Adams, Michael Vaughan, or Gautam Gambhir?

Admittedly all three punched above their weight at times. Am still a bit annoyed GG won a series for India in NZ.
Adams was amazing early on and of course Vaughan had that great Ashes in Oz.

It happened soon after his famous Napier inns

Gambhir was bossing all 3 formats for a brief period. He was very good. But it lasted barely 2 years.

Darwin Award

U19 Vice-Captain
How dirty would Michael Vaughan feel to have Ricky Ponting snatch the Year End Number 1 test batter title away from him right at the very end of the year practically... December 30th.
