**Official** English Football Season 2024/25

We are back, we are so back, first game in a few months, back at the to see us play Pompey
As a Pompey fan, utterly gutted!! The refereeing was a joke, how can you give a pen for a foul so obviously outside the box? Him and the linesman involved should get a ban. Although nice to see him brandish a red card after the game to a Watford player for essentially being a ****!

Man U the gift that keeps giving.

Bruno wants shooting for getting sent off and Onana concedes direct off a corner. Same planks, different day.
This is just standard United for the last 12 years tbh. Nothing new.

Watching City implode this season has been way more fun. 1 win in like 12 games now. Nearly out of CL and look unlikely to make top 4 at this rate. This is unchartered territory for Pep. He's never been in this situation in his career and he just isn't able to figure out a way to deal with it.

This is the most dramatic downfall I've seen from a club that won a treble not too long ago.

Still just absolutely sure they will be fine though. Get some form together second half of the season to make sure they get Champions League. Liverpool had a couple of awful runs under Klopp and it didn't do them much long term harm.

Newcastle(H) , Liverpool (A), Arsenal (A)

That's United's next 3 fixtures and they likely lose them all .

Ruben needs to find some wins, yeah the squad is poor but they can't be as bad as they have looked recently.

Drop Mainoo, deport Bruno/Dalot might be a start imo.

Ref was awful for both sides tbf! Right result in the end, your keeper was your best player (when he wasn’t spending half the match wasting time anyway!), scenes at the end were very funny

Watching the game now and that 1st card was laughable given the amount of contact the ref was allowing. But once you’re on a yellow you can’t make a challenge that gives you a 2nd.

Keepers used to be protected from being impeded and blocked. Has that changed this year. United are bad but teams are clearly putting a man in front and behind.

Amorim will be a failure at United if he keeps Bruno beyond this season. Gone are the days of him contributing positively to the team.

He's the worst captain I've ever seen at that club.

He's walked into a mess and he can't be blamed for the squad, but how he handles Bruno, Dalot and Mainoo will be fascinating.

Dalot has been dropping 1/10 performances all season, his crossing is pretty much "fetch that you ****" but always plays,,,,Bruno creates chances but yeah he could with been dropped/rested to see if they are less useless without him.....and Mainoo is suffering from 2nd season syndrome and is probably needs a rest.

I wouldn't want Dalot or Bruno but I'd wager he keeps them both (that's based on both being Portuguese and that he's relied on both so far).

Mainoo was definitely overplayed last season, reminds me a bit of Bajcetic where the injuries caught up with him. It's a tricky situation.

Ragnick hit the nail on the head a few seasons ago, the entire place needs to be gutted and Amorim needs to be ruthless. Of the current squad I think only Yoro, Mainoo and Diallo should have long term futures at the club.

Yes, and not just a second season but one that follows a summer with the Euros. Throw in injury and maybe uncertainty about his role in the 3-4-2-1 and he looks out of sorts for sure. Quality will come through I'm sure but a poor environment for a young emerging talent.

Never rated Dalot. As for Bruno, he's had to single-handedly be the creative force for United pretty well since he arrived. The down side is that he has never developed a simple game that fits in with a team model. When faced with a simple pass to a team-mate or a glory ball with a 80% chance of failure he'll go for the latter every time. And given who he's got to pass to a lot of the time who can really blame him?
