What happened? What on earth is Rohit complaining about, is he expecting Marnus to teleport two metres to the left?
Marnus defended the ball and took about four steps down the pitch looking for a run. Rohit complained that in those four steps he wasn't, I dunno, running diagonally or something. What happened?
He's injured iircOne thing I don't get is if you don't really have a standout spinner and you're going to play 2 spinners why isn't one of them your mystery wristy Kuldeep when he has done so well this year and is not the worst batter either. Could arguably be first picked even.
Correlation causation innit? Do they bat better because there assertive or are they more assertive when there in form and all the moving pieces of there batting are in order?Marnus and Smith both bat better when they're being assertive. But they don't seem to realise that.
Rohit is one I have never really rated as a captain tbf. Or as a Test batsman for that matter.silenstriker blamed the media and us for Rohit being a bad captain.
Remember when Rohit was young and really aggressive as a captain. We ruined him.

Yeah both Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav are unavailable. He's injured iirc
I think the protected area is defined for a reason. And dont they expect bowlers to get off in their follow through within 2 steps? Surely its far easier for batsmen to get off in the same 3rd step?Marnus defended the ball and took about four steps down the pitch looking for a run. I can't believe he got sucked into blocking the ramp shot so quickly today. India were basically fielding with 7 men (plus bowler and keeper) after that, those two fielders were doing literally nothingRohit has always been an overrated captain. He goes by matchups and needs a lot of backing of the backroom staff and even then he can suck. People remember his 5 titles in the IPL but I remember him having a bit of an all stars line up and still not making the play offs the same number of times. He has good leadership attributes within the dressing room.
Its just obvious he never has a plan B and while he may still be serviceable in LO cricket as a captain coz that can sometimes work in those scenarios, esp. T20s when the game is so short that you dont often have to push through to your 3rd or 4th plan, but in tests, it has been glaringly obvious. His only plan is to bowl his main seamers in 6 over spells and hope they get wickets.
Nah.. Axar is on paternity leave and Kuldeep is injured. That was the reason Kuldeep was not considered even for the original touring squad. Axar's paternity leave meant he could not be called up to replace Ash, I guess but dont think he was ever getting picked in the origianl squad.
I dont mind the 3rd man and fine leg out in the deep as a test field tbh. Its just that he got rid of the 3rd slip way too soon. I would rather leave the square leg area open if Konstas wants to flick against the swing.I can't believe he got sucked into blocking the ramp shot so quickly today. Precisely. This grinding approach means that by the time they do play a stupid shot and get out they've not done that much damage, all while letting the bowlers settle into a rhythm.
