All the delays really makes one wonder wtf was going on in the morning when Lyon was blocking all those balls instead of doing... not that

Whatever it takes!!!
I really suspect that knee problem is really stopping him from pressing forward as comfortably as he needs to, he just hasn't looked his usual self on the front foot this series
I mean there are many batsmen who survive without much of a front foot game, including Travis Head. He just needs to figure out he does not need to play a forward defensive at least in SENA.

I am hoping his knee gets better with more cricket tbh as it could be a flexibility issue if they have added support around the knee and it gets better with time.

day 4. no result is possible here given further rain likely in tropic bris.

why no reserve days atleast for bris and sydney where the weather is usually tropical/rainy style in summer??

Davidson, surely?
Hes only got 186 wickets, although they came at ridiculous figures. Those days they played and toured less due to wars . If he played more, if wouldve been #2. Akram, ridiculous talent, is surely undisputed #1. He could hoop the ball both ways, in the air and off the seam..No left arm bowler like that exists currently.

so if we are going on bias on average, then hes #2. if its 50/50, then its Starc is - he has a lot more wickets.

Akram is my favourite bowler but Starc runs him a close second when it comes to pure talent

He’s one of the few 6’6” left handed express swing bowlers in history and I literally can’t think of anyone else

Are you ****ing kidding me?
Starc is a very good bowler, but Akram is rated the best by basically all the great 90s players, from every country. The things he could do consistently, only Marshall had that level of skill

Starc isn't even the most skilled or dangerous of his era

Akram is one of the best bowlers ever in tests. Probably #2 to Marshall. #3 - #4- probably Ambrose & Mcgrath. Ambrose completely unplayable. Mcgrath great but had incredible support from Warne and other pacers.

Akram swing the ball both ways, seam it both ways, really incredible level of skill, that kind of skill not many bowlers had.

Based on mainly figures ,not primarily longevity.

Fast bowlers only

#1 Marshall
#2 Akram
#3 Ambrose
#4 Mcgrath

#3 and #4 are close. Marshall is easily the best followed by Akram. No bowlers of this calibre exist in cricket currently.

Just all bowlers incl spinners. Warne the best bowler ever- 708 wickets! We just know how good he was, because wrist spin is pretty much dead now, and that kind of bowling is once in a 100 years. Just wasnt great in India(it was favourable for over spinners like Kumble and off spin like Harbhajan, not so much wrist spin during his time) but other subcontinent places like SL he was good.

Murali probably #6, he feasted on a lot of BANG and ZIM though which padded his figures and wasnt good in Australia but hes still at #6, got 800 test wickets at an incredible average(again the BANG and ZIM clarification and not great in places like Australia bring him down to #6).

#1 Warne
#2 Marshall
#3 Akram
#4 Ambrose
#5 Mcgrath
#6 Murali

Starc is absurdly overrated. Not even top 30 left armers of all time

Estraya has been so clinical since Adelaide that going to Melbourne with one all does not feel quite right but may aswell be the case.
