Typical Latham, just when he was looking good he finds a way to get himself out.

He's still our best opening batsman since John Wright, slim pickings there though.

Richardson was far better at finding tough runs. Latham obviously has longevity on his side...
Yeah Richardson was the only other opener we have had that would be in the mix, he was a gritty fighter against some great bowling attacks.

He also provided one of the funniest moments in test cricket when he cramped up against India when he played another long gritty innings.

That scream from Richardson is an absolute dead ringer for ‘the Wilhelm Scream’.

I wonder if any of the England bowlers are brave enough to say what they really think of Bazball... bowl all day on a hot day... start again the next day. Then get about 3 hours off, and they have to do it all over again.

Maybe Jimmy did...

Stokes showing frustration. Wheels falling off in the field. This is the arm wrestle of test cricket: get the upper hand, make the opposition work harder out in the field, tire out their bowlers, fatigue their openers so they are mentally under the cosh when they go out to bat again.

How many of the dismissals were 'Bazball' dismissals? Bethell and Stokes?

It's the whole ethos and mindset. And chosen personnel and their skills and attitude. And strategy etc etc. Where is the grit to knuckle down, get into line, weather the storm and just stay in? Yeah nope....

Oh except they owned us already.

Aaron Redmond is underrated as an NZ opener, the son of Rodney Redmond, another Perth Black Caps product along wit Luke Ronchi and Mitchell.

NZ have repaid the favour by allowing Finn Allen to play for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash opening game tonight against the Melbourne Stars.

Aaron Redmond dropped after scoring an 80 odd in his previous test against Australia at Adelaide.
