We should get a first innings lead now but with Stokes still there that isn't guaranteed, the England tailenders aren't mugs with the bat either.

I reckon this pitch needs to be the template for NZ going forwards. The green carpeted seamy roads were great when we had 2 world class swing bowlers and a raging sadomasochist in the attack. But with the attack now headlined by Henry and O'Rourke, the preservation of swing at the expense of all other considerations is no longer the right strategy.

I think that's just about lights out for England in this test.
