Perera's had some utterly outrageous shots that still stick in the memory almost as vividly as Laras pull off McGrath or the final cover drive off Gillespie. Pumping Steyn and Rabada for massive sixes, and then that cheeky af late cut to finish it. So good.

Regardless of who's innings you think is better ( most except hb accept it's close ), I also love that he made a very important 50, in the low scoring first innings. Just an amazing overall performance.
I mean yeah I don’t have an issue with anyone who prefers either but to say either is not close to the other… feels a bit off. I know Lara is one of hb’s faves tho.

haha.. I think I said its a close but clear margin. That is how I see it at least.

I never said his innings was jammy. I said Lara's was better because it was less jammy, among other reasons. There is a difference.
I always got this feeling that although South Africa always had superb bowling, there would be instances where their bowling unit would go cold and underperform.

Donald & Steyn were quite similar - Very aggressive and attacking bowlers but both of them had off days where they would leak runs.
