Think Saim should open going forward to break up the monotony at the top. The middle order is untested but they were under immense pressure because of Rizwan's struggles today. When he's not on song he just can't get anything away that isn't in the slot and on leg stump. All SA had to do was not bowl it in his arc and they did that perfectly, especially the spinners.

I always assumed that it had nothing to do with his cricketing ability and more to do with personality clashes (and probably other politics) with CSA... one of those players never treated well.
