Lol lol Trump likely just read up on Sachin to appease his audience, let's be real.He was the closest cricket came to it.
Even Trump knows him!

And?Mike Tyson is probably the most famous sportsperson alive today. Even those who have never seen him fight would have at least heard his name. The name Tyson is synonymous with fighting and in many of our films have a character named “Tyson” who is often a fighter not necessarily a boxer.
Of course. No cricket superstar will match the other sports (unless we include Imran Khan as politician too, and even then he might not have the name recognition of Messi or MJ).On the other hand, anyone who watches football/soccer knows who Messi is and the following for football is much greater than cricket. And with MJ it's no contest, the guy is huge in Asia, Africa the Americas everywhere even though Basketball isn't as followed.
Because they tried to **** everything that wasn't nailed down.Kohli is a global super star yes. I don't think he is more popular than Sachin though.
Yes Warne and Imran had the paparazzi on them because they were superstars not just for cricket but their global image. They were part of a jetset. You could ask your average Brit and they likely would have heard of Imran and Warne than Viv.
Bradman is very much a cricket audience person.
ThaT'S REALLY IMPRESSIVE.If you follow the sport you will know Sachin. But that applies to any sportsperson. Forget Jordan, many of my relatives(age>50) have no idea who is Messi
Cas Imran had glamor and Warne was a larakin and that helped make them both popular, which is the point of the thread.Because they tried to **** everything that wasn't nailed down.

Bumrah isn’t up there I think, anyone from India to confirm? It changes with time. Since the 90’s its been whoever’s most popular in India at the time.
But yeah, its Sachin, because India, plus recency compared to these other two. I wouldn’t even necessarily put them as the others in the top 3.
Warne, Kohli, Bumrah, perhaps even Dhoni could be considered contenders.
Kohli can only at best equal Tendulkar but his star power has only waned lately. How can he top him exactly?Rohit probably has more fan base in India than Bumrah I think. Kohli arguably already tops Sachin, Dhoni has huge fan base in India too as far as I know.
Dhoni is understandable. Rohit is Sh*t.Rohit probably has more fan base in India than Bumrah I think. Kohli arguably already tops Sachin, Dhoni has huge fan base in India too as far as I know.
He can't.Kohli can only at best equal Tendulkar but his star power has only waned lately. How can he top him exactly?
Indians already consider Bumrah their best bowler ever or the best bowler ever in cricket? The former is reasonable, the latter is absurd at this point in his career.Dhoni is understandable. Rohit is Sh*t.
Bumrah is already rated as the greatest bowler ever by some Indians.
I mean, they may even rate Rohit as one of the bests. So, rating Bumrah that high is not really that surprising ig.Indians already consider Bumrah their best bowler ever or the best bowler ever in cricket? The former is reasonable, the latter is absurd at this point in his career.
If I ask my mates who is Messi they’ll just point at each other.ThaT'S REALLY IMPRESSIVE.
tbh I’m pretty sure people who never watched athletics heard about Usain Bolt.Except cricket and tennis, I have rarely watched any others sports in the last 20 years.
NBA - The only names I know in last 20 years is LeBron James & some Serbian called Jokic(that too because Novak Djokovic talks about him).
F-1 : The last time I watched Schumacher was champion. I have no idea who has won and how many titles they have since then.
MLB - Babe Ruth. No idea about any other player.
NHL - Wayne Gretzky. No idea about any other player.
NFL - The greatest player can come in front of me and I would not recognise him.
Football - Messi & Ronaldo are the only two names I know in recent times
The truth is unless you follow the sport you would not recognise any name regardless of how much they transcended the sport like media tells.
Bolt transcended athleticstbh I’m pretty sure people who never watched athletics heard about Usain Bolt.
