You can see what they see in Bethell, he does have a pretty sound defensive technique, he's already ahead of Crawley as a bat for me, whack him to open, put Stokes at 3, then Root, Brook, Pope, smith as a incredible middle order, but we'll see.

The way people were talking about Bethell, I was expecting a T20 slogger. He's not that at all. Aggressive but mostly plays cricket shots.

Not sure but I think we can rule out Southee on both counts, he certainly isn't cricket smart when it comes to batting.

He keeps playing straight drives like that , we will be watching him for a few years at this level
