Seriously though, there are few things more satisfying in cricket watching a player you have known about for years get at oppurtinity at a higher level and genuinely do a gun job, with his secondary skill no less
It’s also pretty amusing as you see a young guy walk out to bat with no reputation at all and straight away his footwork is better than many specialists

He’s got a terrific bowling action too

This discussion about younger Indian player playing a lot of games, and longer games, compared to the Australian players playing fewer and shorter games and relying more on practice might have something to it. Our best batting era came when younger players still regularly played grade.

Jaiswal's cut over the the slips is frustrating to me not just for the runs but because I don't see any Australian batsman (aside from Head on occasion) try it. It's not the safest shot of course, but you'd think it would be productive on our bouncier pitches.

Now we're hearing the commentators describe a theory that Indians are now much better at playing fast bowling because their net thrower is a tiny guy who can throw with the dog thrower really quick and uses all sorts of different balls and can basically do anything.

So both Reddy and Sundar scored runs and Rana took a bunch of wickets. So who do you leave out?

Padikkal is out obviously. But looks like Gill will also play, so gotta leave out Jurel? Seems a bit harsh - he looked great in the tour game previously. And for bowling, I guess Jadeja in for Sundar? Deep in for Reddy? But that may weaken the batting too much given how well Reddy is doing with the bat.

Good to see former Northwest Sydney Hurricanes 4th Grade Shires player Jack Nisbet on the park for Aus A

Same team with Gill/Rohit in. Jurel/Paddikal out.
