Sure am glad we wheeled out dead Southee, dead Wagner, Kuggeleijn and Tickner past 3 years while O'Rourke, Sears and this guy exist.
They were all injured that season (except O'Rourke (. Sears, Fisher, Smith all had season ending injuries before the test series started).

TIM SOUTHEE MUST PLAY EACH N EVERY SINGLE GAME DONT YOU GET IT
Otautahi, Aotearoa, 29 November 2224.

Despite being dead for well over a century, veteran seamer Tim Southee has once again been selected for the BLACKCAPS upcoming tour of Azerbaijan, set to begin with a festival match in the picturesque, world-heritage listed mountain town of Shaki.

"Obviously we love having Tim in the side for his leadership qualities" said Justin Vaughan, sixth clone of the legendary administrator and Chief CEO of Cricketearoa. "But he's obviously also in the side because he's a great player, and we're confident that he can finally hit that 400-wicket mark. Possibly even as early as the second test in Baku."

The batting that remains is good enough to get back in the match if conditions ease up. NZ bowlers too good if it continues to hop about.

You can't have watched this morning (or the India series) if you don't still think that Southee is still one of our best 4 pace bowlers.

Maybe last couple of seasons he's been off it but this season I'm really not seeing a qualitative difference between current Southee and career Southee.
I'm following on radio today so fair cop but his past 2 seasons have been grim. We've definitely been slow to provide the heat to Southee that often precedes some of his best work.

Probably fair to say I’ve been Southee’s biggest fan since forever on here, and yeah he’s been cooked for 18-24 months.

His pace dropped about 5-6 years ago now but he still had soooommmeee zip. That completely left him a couple of summers ago. Shouldn’t be near this team now.

Edit: I mean Southee looked like he belonged in this England bowling group, not this NZ one.

Got the feeling that O'Rourke could be the weak link in the attack today. His stock length will just sit up very nicely unless the surface has quickened up from yesterday.

How does he not have a bat pad in? Ball jumping from a good-full length for him.

He knows he needs to pitch it up here, it's no secret.

Sure.

Genuinely think he bowled well this morning though.
