I am interested to find out how it work. There has been pretty decent advertising for this match in Durban. The local radio stations have been involved and so have the printed media. I wonder how it would have went down if they changed the venue after the Bangladesh series!
Doesn't look like the advertising has had much effect. Even with tickets at R20 with the black Friday deal there is hardly anyone there.

Being the middle of the week will have a lot to do with the low attendance.
There is low attendance and then there is no attendance, this falls into the no attendance category.. Looking at the visual this is competing with the local 4 day competition for 5 guys and their dog.

I watched the whole of the first session. The Sri Lankan seamers weren't finding the right lengths up front hence Markram got a few away but they corrected well. I don't know how much better the openers could have played their wicket taking balls. They certainly weren't flashing at wide ones.

Stubbs seems to be keen to dig in. He got a good ball from Kumara but his concentration broke it seemed due to some sightscreen issues. Bedingham I feel is going to entertain us and frustrate us as SA fans. Definitely likes to play his shots instead of digging in so I think we are going to see more dismissals like this from him.

For me the main points are Sri Lanka giving Bavuma two lives. He looked really rusty upfront but he has looked better the longer he was out there until he gloved one. If he kicks on you have to feel Sri Lanka will be kicking themselves (more than they should be). The Fernandos were great but Kumara is loose between his wicket taking deliveries which is why SA have been ticking on at about 4 an over. Definitely still a Sri Lanaka day.

First session tomorrow very important. We still have enough batting to get a decent score but need temba to play an innings with Kyle, wiaan and Marco playing around him.
