India quite clearly for me. Australia not only lost to the Windies in that last home Test, but weren't that convincing against an ordinary NZ side, with a few key players injured, and effectively a bowler short in each Test.

There's no rational argument for Aust > India atm, especially based on India's recent tours to Aust.

the whitewash at home means India has forfeited the right to anything.
naah. doesn't erase recent records.

nz themselves have been whitewashed at home this year plus away.

eng decent at home but has not won against ind and aus and has been poor away.

If Ind win this

@ home - win vs everyone else, loss vs nz
@ away - win/draw vs everyone else, loss vs nz

Eng -

@ home - win/draw vs everyone
@ away - losses in wi, pak, aus, ind, win/draw elsewhere

Aus -

@ home - win vs everyone else, loss vs ind
@ away - loss in ind, sa, win/draw with everyone else

SA -

@ home - win/draw vs everyone else, loss vs eng
@ away - loss in eng, nz, ind, pak, sl

NZ

@ home - win/draw vs everyone, loss vs aus
@ away - loss in Eng, Aus, SL, SA

besides the India team that played NZ is dead and gone. Be surprised if Ashwin / Jadeja / Rohit play 5 more tests for India. Kohli maybe 10.

Cannot be any of the non big 3 because those teams go through multiple whitewashes both home/away. Ind just had this one in recent years.

If Ind win this series, they will have better records than the other two and also have defeated them at home and away (drawn in Eng).
