Has he given up leggies altogether? He was a pretty decent spinner. Not sure he'll get a lot out of bowling bouncers non-stop.
Nah he still practices both. He's been bowling more seam lately because of the balance of the Queensland side and the Aus domestic pitches. He opened the bowling in grade cricket even when he was bowling lots of leggies in levels above that so he doesn't seem to have an issue switching between them.

To be frank though he was facing a great spell of bowling yesterday, most batsmen today would not be able to survive that spell from Boom.

Without him the rest of the bowling looks manageable to score runs against.
yeah but he has been medicore for two years now, he averaged 60+ in December 2022 and now...yeah

He got BBQ’d by David Warner in the Boxing Day Test a few years ago on a flat pitch and hasn’t been the same since.

Perfect example of why you should never sacrifice your wicket for someone else, regardless of how well you’re playing.

Pitch flattened and not very good from Aus. Definitely beatable at home(we saw WI beat them in a test recently, with high class seam and swing bowling - This indian seam attack is a lot better than WI).

the IND Series vs NZ on turning pitches, was a false indicator, actually most of Indias spinners are well past it(they arent picked for Aus matches), its the seamers that are extremely dangerous, led by the ATG Bumrah and Siraj who can move the ball both ways from the air and off the pitch!

IND batters are mostly a young, fresh batting lineup apart from Kohli. Jaiswal is only 22 and a prodigy.

Aus batting lineup is a very old and sluggish batting lineup - most of the guys are 30 plus, and the debutant is not a specialist opener- McSweeney.

Well will be interesting to see if there's a reaction to this from selectors or they double down. I don't think Australia have been as bad as the scorecard suggests (it was certainly easier to bat today) but there's definitely some warning signs in the batting effort and speeds from the quicks quite down. If they'd come out with the same intensity as they had after tea they might been able to make a match of it, but by then both openers looked in.

Australia finally paying the price of not giving a chance to young seamers
The trio have played all 3 formats with little rest.
Cummins's test bowling has declined as a result of the toll captaining in odis has taken on him.

They need to blood in Fergus O'Neill this series.

I agree. We should have done what England would have done in this situation, which is turn all of their pitches into rank turners.

Unironically love how boring these two made today's play. Great position to be in but probably need quite a bit more. Pitch looks roady af.
I think it may crack and get a little uneven towards the end of the match given how quickly it's browning and hardening already. Definitely in India's interest to try and bat all day tomorrow regardless of how many runs they're adding to deny Australia any of the best of the conditions on Day 3.

agreed, Australia should deffo be looking at changes to the bowling attack for the rest of the series. this is why they are where they are .
