So I’ve been at work all day, didn’t realise the series had even started tbh. Is this just a very friendly pitch or are both teams crap at batting?
Both really. I don't think it's a terrible minefield but India got the ball talking and Australia had no answer. Didn't see the first innings.

bowling has been good but the pitch is like a usual Steyn-Era SA pitch imo, good for bowling but nothing unplayable, both sides have batted horribly and made even straight balls look unplayable.

Despite a seemingly good start that turned out to be one of the most worrying days of test cricket I've watched. Bumrah was absolutely brilliant but the batting looks shot. Every sign weakness I saw in the Pakistan and WI series last season was there but much more ruthlessly exploited. And they need to find a way against the other bowlers, Siraj etc. are decent but they're not on the same level.

While the pitch has been pleasantly challenging and the bowlers (especially Bumrah and Hazlewood) bowled brilliantly; but I would say you won't be too wrong to say that the match has been between two fragile asf batting line-ups, to compete who can be shittier here.
