**Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

Well yeah because he was struggling to predict where the ball would land. Like I said, a lot easier said than done over your shoulder running backwards
Yeah so I'd suggest backpedaling or even running back and turning around. He certainly had the time, just looked unprepared and surprised.

Comms getting excited over there being a record WA Test crowd with 27k in the ground.

Isn't that a tad disappointing? Can't even get stadium half full against India. Don't think even next year's Ashes will be close to full.
I mean... it is a record WA Test crowd. That'd be like 10k more than the WACA's capacity.

Whatever it takes!!!
I honestly feel par is well north of 300 at a minimum and this post lunch session has only reinforced that. This just looks a traditional bouncy Australian pitch which does a bit before lunch but by tea is more than good to bat on if you can handle the extra bounce.

No guarantee that Aus will get anywhere near that themselves ofc.

This pitch usually quickens up by day 2 right? Plus the rain effect also wears off more by day 2 and 3. I dunno, I guess I expect the pitch to aid bowling a bit more for some reason. At least that is how remember the Perth test going in 2018.

Reddy has quietly looked ok. But conditions have undoubtedly eased up by the looks of things. Slightly fewer leaping off a length now.
The Aussie bowlers are getting tired now too but right on cue Cummins gets Pant so maybe they aren't that tired.

Disappointing I was hoping for a Pant ton or at least a fifty.

Always a shame to see Pant out, honestly he's so good, but from an Aus perspective they needed that. He just couldnt' resist going at that line from over the wicket, which I think is the right anglt to him.

Cummins been average today as noted, but probably deserved that. Beaten the bat quite a lot.

I think it's usually Brisbane that quickens up Day 2 rather than Perth. But in Aus Day 2 is traditionally the best day to bat.

I just compare this to, say, last year's game at Perth and this seems significantly more docile to me. Warner's innings really inflated Aus's first innings score, that pitch was doing plenty all game and Pakistan should never have let us get 400+.

Its kinda sad that I dont think we played that badly either today. This side has such a low upside at this point. They could be at their absolute best and will still be beaten by 5 wickets or 60 runs. :( Easily the worst Indian side at the start of a tour since 1999.
