*Official* England's Tour of the West Indies, OCTOBER 31st to NOVEMBER 17th, 2024-- 3 ODIs & 5 T20Is

Team starting with all rounders at 4 and a specialist bat at 8 is utterly nonsense.

We've treated ODIs with disdain since 2019.
4? there’s one opening too. The only blokes who can’t bowl are 2 keepers (well we’ve yet to see one of them keep but we will in NZ) and the number 8!!

This Jamie Overton continued selection when he can't bowl, may be the most bizarre decision from England selectors ever, and trust me I remember many. I'm pretty sure he's not only the best player in his family, or even womb he grew in, to get a call-up atm.

Surely with England choosing Cox to be test keeper next month in NZ, it would be sensible to have him keep wkt in this series
so he gets some practice and experience. I dont think hes kept in the CC since 2023. Looks like an easy win for Windies if the
rain dont spoil it. We cant give any reparations for slavery so we send a crap cricket team to be ritually humiliated.

I had forgotten just how good Evin is at ODIs. 2,000 runs @ 40, strike rate in the late 80s.

If we can keep him around, persuade Pooran to play ODIs in future and Rutherford builds on his bright start, that will be 4 guys averaging 40 or more in our top 6. Something to build on anyway.

King is definitely at risk if someone scores big runs in Super 50, he's averaging 28. Hety averages 32 but at a strike rate of over 100, which is fine for a number 5 or 6.

Nice to see livi step up with the extra responsibility. Not an amazing performance, but if we see him bowling 6 overs for a wicket and a solid econ and making ~50 at run a ball rather than slogging 50(25) and getting a duck every other innings he's a huge addition to this ODI side.

2.Duckett
3.Root
4.Brook
5.Livingstone
6.Buttler
7.

No idea around the bowling, second opener or #7 (jacks could do the second thing I guess?) but the batting looks decent if livi and brook keep up there form.

Best just to accept there's no logic and it's all based on vibes and the new regime bounce is petering out.
