I dunno who got there first but both Ingram and Higgins reached 1000+ runs during the last round.

It annoying that the FC averages are divided into div 1 and div2, someone should put them together so i dont have to look in 4 places.
Cricket archive provide combined County Championship averages behind their paywall, depends how much you want it at less than £5/month

Not sure they do combined first class.

I notice reading a Yorkshire blog that there are rumours that only 3 of Yorkshire's 7 Championship games will be played at Headingley in 2025.
3 at Scarborough and 1 at York.
Interesting to see if that happens.
Won't mind if it does myself as I will be over in England next year and haven't been to either venue, so can hopefully tick one of those outgrounds off my list.

Durham have signed Chemar Holder for their final three Championship games of the season.
Lancashire sign a compatriot of his Anderson Philip (never heard of him):

Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton said: “We are really pleased to bolster our pace attack with the addition of Anderson for our remaining matches in this summer’s Vitality County Championship.

“Adding further pace to our bowling attack for the final matches of the red ball season has been a key aim for myself and Dale and it’s great to be able to welcome Anderson into the group.

“We are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to our side starting tomorrow up in Durham as we aim for a strong end to the season.”

Well, Mark now you'd added to the bowling why not the batting? You are allowed two overseas.....

I'm sure they will be hoping he's as good as Venkatesh Iyer.

I stand corrected.
Lancashire announced that Iyer would be available for the Metro Bank Cup and the two Championship matches in August. He must have impressed the coaches / marketing staff so much as a specialised no 8 batsman combined with 2 overs of bowling that they had to keep him on.
Drinks carrier?

He injured his calf playing football.

Any WI know about Anderson Phillip?
Will soon find out if he is an improvement on the last, unless I've forgotten someone, west indies quick who played for Lancs and was released a year early from his contract. His wiki page:

Powell was released from his contract with Lancashire in September 2010, a year before his contract expired. During his spell with Lancashire, Powell played in four County Championship matches, taking seven wickets at an average of nearly fifty. He went wicketless in his four T20 matches, although he took seven in nine Clydesdale Bank 40 matches. On the subject of Powell's time with Lancashire, Watkinson said "He has been a top bloke around the place but he hasn't quite been able to seize his opportunity when he has had it".

Surrey sign Al-Hasan for this match vs Somerset... Canny but should have it been allowed?
No it shouldn't. If the rules allow it, the rules need changing.

EDIT
The bigger shock is that Tom Curran has un-retired from red ball cricket.
Surrey's batting looks quite iffy actually. Jacks and SCurran aren't playing, for whatever reasons. And Sudharsan isn't playing in this one.
If Somerset's batting holds up, they have a real chance here.

Young Archie Vaughan is playing for Somerset btw. And batting very nicely.

I am guessing Jacks and Curran because they will be in the England t20 side against the Aussies later this week?
