This is Jack Hobbs' technique. Are we kidding ourselves here? Your average first class player today is taught better basics than this.

It is useless comparing such cricketers playing matches with charity game-level intensity with modern players. We have zero idea how he would do today.

On a somewhat more serious note, I always thought that Sutcliffe looked better to me than Hobbs, and this clip was more confirmation In a match played together.

Low fps makes everyone look amateur. Tendulkar would've been mortified - or should have been if he weren't a PC bot - when Bradman said he most resembled himself. Guy looked straight out of the oldest Mickey Mouse short you can find. Now if he'd lived long enough to watch Steve Smith bat...

Nah the votes are serious. It’s clear from watching them bat that Jadeja has the better technique.
Of course he has!! He is Sir Jadeja afterall, his technique can't be compared with mere mortals like Bradman, Hobbs and Tendulkar! Only Woakes is his competitor, and Garner for his batting.

No Jadeja seriously has a better technique then Hobbs.
Of course he has seriously!! Did you thought I was joking!!? Nope, never. Jadeja's technique isn't comparable to Hobbs, or Bradman, or Tendulkar, or Kallis. The post should had been Jadeja vs Woakes vs Garner (batting only)

Who cares about technique anyway? Its effectiveness that matters.

More NBA players should shoot free throws underarm. Rick Barry is still one of the greatest FT shooters of all time, despite his technique that many would scoff at.

It's good technique. Poor shooting NBA players literally don't use it, simply because it makes them look "uncool".

Not that a pro NBA center clanging away at 50% clip looks "cool" anyway, but hey ho.
