Dhoni in tests is a bit overrated in terms of his impact. I prefer Stokes

Oh I didn't get you at first. And hardly seen anybody even rate Dhoni in tests. But he is a much better odi cricketer than Stokes. Stokes is a bit overrated in both

The Wheel is Forever
As Test cricketers, Stokes very comfortably. Dhoni only has one century outside of India (in Pakistan). Obviously, Gilchrist has changed all expectations of what a wicketkeeper could do, but still. If you are building a Test side, you'd pick stokes well before Dhoni.

Overall, Dhoni for me. Stokes is kinda overrated in both formats, and I honestly don't get the new found Dhoni hate in Tests. He was a very good keeper and averaged as much as Stokes with the bat (although Stokes was clearly the better batsman). While making a team, I will prefer Dhoni more often.

And on batting, Dhoni only failed in Australia (though was excellent against them at home) properly among major countries and his output in SA, while good for a wicket keeper, is not as much as expected of him (not counting WI much more than I do Bangladesh for Smith, matter of fact against whom Dhoni did very well). Averages 37 in England with 8 50s and a spectacular innings, 54 in NZ, 60 in Pakistan and 45 at home and at least have half centuries everywhere........ He is no Gilchrist of course, but not much worse than any keeper batsman after Gilchrist.

Gave us the World Cup..... Not an exaggeration over whatever Stokes and his Bazball has done for the game.
Kapil gave us the World Cup. It was just another home ODI tournament. Meaningless really. Indian cricket was fine before and after

Nahhhhh...... After the 2023 loss, the last thing an Indian fan should do is downplay the 2011 World Cup. Not to mention, Stokes hasn't done much more really.
It was a nice win, I enjoyed it very much. i was in a bar in Beijing watching which was quite an experience. In no way did it save Indian cricket or define Indian cricket. In the same way the 2023 World Cup final was just a loss, and entirely within the realm of probability. No impact whatsoever on Indian cricket.

Again, as an 8 year old for whom it was the defining cricket moment, I disagree. It's impact was staggeringly more than you're giving it credit.
