Discussing Bazball approach in Test Cricket

It's such an obvious way to absolve yourself of any responsibility to perform that it's almost genius, because it's so obvious no one would ever say it

"it's not about winning as long as everyone has fun"

They are winning more tbf

It’s worked for sure imo, but they need to stop thinking of themselves as messiahs. This game has a way of making you look very very stupid very very quickly.
Course they are, TJB is being a caricature of the typical, dum dum, arrogant Australian cricket fan again.

I do agree though, the messiah complex kinda sucks a bit. Let the rest of the world decide what your legacy is, you don't get to announce it yourself.

Possible, I took it from cricket.com.au so it definitely triggered something in the enemy camp
There was a post from Fox Sports on X as well which Stokes responded to, pointing out he was living rent free in their heads too.

To be honest, I've liked most of Bazball and there's no doubt we've won more Tests as a result (the Pakistan series being the perfect example). But he needs to acknowledge that he ****ed up badly with the declaration at Edgbaston that arguably cost England the Ashes. The style of cricket is fine, but it needs to be applied with some common sense too, which sometimes is lacking.

And yeah, I find the some of this messianic **** pretty nauseating. But if it winds up the likes of TJB, then carry on.....

Bazball, imo, isn't so much about a style of play than an attitude. Having that positive attitude and self belief casts off negative, defensive shackles and encourages more aggression.

Too true!! This is my mindset after getting up at 4am, doing 30,000 sit ups and eating 60 bananas whilst the rest of you losers are sleeping!!
