It really ought to be the start of a rebuilding period too. I'd like to see Bairstow, Ali, Jordan and Wood all replaced.

This narrative is forced and cliche. Don't think anyone is saying England have been cheated out of it. They have declined in WB recently. Middle order isn't great, batting in general is condition-dependent and they don't get enough PP wickets. Several guys in and around the team like Mo, Jordan and Curran offering next to nothing. And I see these things getting pointed out all the time.
