Semi final qualification status

Qlder

International Debutant
bc the first team to qualify is one that has won only 4 games out of 6. One that has won 6 out of 6 is hanging by a thread.
England have only won 4 out of 7. And yes SA is hanging by a thread after winning 6 out of 6

NRR should only take into account teams that can actually qualify via points. for instance, if a team loses 3 out of 3, their oppositions' results against them should not count towards total NRR when calculating qualification

If the system has benefited a team I don't like, the system is wrong

People thinking Australia still have a chance are crazy. Even if they beat India, Afghanistan only has to flog Bangladesh to get in with higher NRR.

I mean who have Bangladesh beaten, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. Afghanistan should beat them easily
So you predicted Afghanistan to beat Australia? Nobody knows what the future holds for sure.

A - 3/3 wins
B - 2/3 wins
C - 2/3 wins
D - 0/3 wins

D's results against others should not be considered when calculating NRR

the best performing team out of B and C will go through based on newly calculated NRR

Well in this hypothetical (and impossible example), wouldn't the result of the game between the two be the best decider?

Tbf, can't think of a team benefitting from stupidly **** rule more than England in the 2019 Final.....
And decider to split sides in cricket is going to be arbitrary and unsatisfactory, far more so than in football or rugby.

Depends really, always hated "more away goals wins" for tied scores in two leg matches..... Although you have to admit the boundary count rule wasn't satisfactory.
