Match #50- Super Eights, West Indies vs South Africa (N), Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, Antigua-- June 23rd- Group 2

Joseph has taken a wicket once every 11 balls at the tournament - and Nortje once every 13 balls - and is rightly seen as West Indies' biggest threat with the ball.

Lies

West Indies (probable): 1 Shai Hope/Kyle Mayers, 2 Johnson Charles, 3 Nicholas Pooran (wk), 4 Rovman Powell (capt), 5 Andre Russell, 6 Sherfane Rutherford, 7 Romario Shepherd/Roston Chase, 8 Obed McCoy, 9 Akeal Hosein, 10 Alzarri Joseph, 11 Gudakesh Motie

Guess only decision will be on baartman or Shamsi both had disappointing last games. Unlikely they will touch the batting.

So South Africa is now the only team to have won every game they've played (India hasn't lost but had 1 washout)

You just know given our history that the law of averages will come and bite us in the ass...

No way the coach is gonna drop his fellow countryman.

This is great in a sense from neutral POV that we dont have to look at nrr when the game goes on. Just old fashinoned Quarter Final

A bright spot for us is that the last two series we played against SA, we've won them.

So, hoping this plays a part as players from both teams are familiar with each other.

Shepherd lost his place because he bowled crap. Johnson Charles should be dropped because he only has one shot and is crap*

*he smacked a century against the Proteas in SA not too long ago.

Johnson is awful but as you say he really likes South Africa and Hope and Pooran are in form. You can take the risk with him and Windies bat all the way down.

If I was South Africa, I would look at Fortuin tonight. Gives you more with the bat and in the field than Shamsi, the option to take the new ball and to get through their 4 early. Markram also doesn’t seem to fancy their bowling. He could have got through another one against England at the midway point when it looked like spin was the way to go.

Looking forward to the game.

Nah more like posters on this forum who cant think of anything proper to say and just wheel out the word "choke" no matter the context
Totally agree with you but tbh it's not just here.....its everywhere in cricket circles and I hate it. The most overplayed and irrelevant meme in cricket and it sucks, everyone that uses it sucks too.

Unjustified to SA and disrespectful to the teams that have beaten them in WC's
