Assuming we can agree the top five are in some order of Imran, Sachin, Murali, Gavaskar and Wasim, who has the best case to be no.6?

number11

State Regular
Waqar is very close to a T1 ATG. His first incarnation was a force of nature. Post injury, he was just a good bowler. That's why he just misses out from T1 status for me.

Migara

International Coach
Sanga given his keeping abilities should be there in top 5. He tops Wasim in test cricket easily.

Add ODIs to it. then it becomes really really complicated.

Tests only - Imran, Murali, Sachin, Sangakkara, Gavaskar
Tests and ODIs - Murali, Sachin, Wasim and Imran are right there. Kumble or Kapil as the fifth, because of their brilliance in ODI game.

Disagree. Akram is a lock as a T1 ATG. Sanga may not be.

International Vice-Captain
Given that a wicket keeper is equivalent to 4 bowlers in impact (and a batting average of 57 on top of it), Sanga has to be the greatest cricketer ever, let alone the 6th greatest from SC. He hasn't dropped any catch in the cordon either, which strengthens his case.

Shakib should also be included. He is as good or better than the allrounders who are listed.

Re the question, I'd say Sanga.

Majestic

U19 Captain
Sangakkara - Test ATG, ODI Great

Kohli- Test Great, LOIs GOAT( or close)

Kapil - ODI ATG (a World Cup winning captain), Test ATG( all rounder)

Waqar - Test ATG, ODI Great( Economy high)

Dravid - Test ATG, ODI Good( Strike rate low)

Miandad - Test ATG, ODI Good(Strike rate low)

I think it should be Kapil Dev because he completely changed the dynamics of cricket in subcontinent with that World Cup win.

Sangakkara at 7 and Kohli at 8.

Waqar at 9, Miandad 10 and Dravid 11.
