Other random thought: Rock dropping endless F bombs is great and funny, but also really ****ing distracting when they get bleeped/censored out. Felt like my audio was on the blink at times given how constant this was.

Pat McAfee saying "sh1t" on commentary numerous times was also interesting tstl. He had various moments across both nights where things he said probably gave someone with a headset on backstage a panic attack actually.

I like how John Cena (who presumably in kayfabe was only there to provide the save for Cody) waited until after Cody had been speared/Samoan-spiked, and had to kick out of a pin attempt, before he came out though. I know this is just one of those pro wrestling things, but if Cody hadn't kicked out there he would have been left looking like a total dumbass lol.
He just really hates Solo Sikoa specifically

There was also something very Attack on Titan about Roman's orchestral entrance. Thought that was class.
Was genuinely the part of the night which make me giggle most - a ****ing symphony orchestra for a wrestling entrance. Genius.

Haha it's an odd fit, but at the same time wrestling is one of the only things where something like this really works. If similar was done elsewhere, as part of an entrance in some other sport or something, it would just be nonsense. And it is here as well tbh, but it just works haha.

Some love letter to the fans. I get Cornette and Co. insisting on calling it professional wrestling but really this spectacle is in a genre of its own and Sports Entertainment is the only label that does it justice.

Whatever it takes!!!
It was actually pretty clever branding by Vince McMahon back in the day. But we have news channels in India tweeting WM results as sports news, in local languages, no less...

It's as vulgar and showy as anything on the planet yet somehow cathartic and even morally illustrative at times. Transcends every other kind of consumerist entertainment out there while tapping into virtually all of them for inspiration albeit with varying degrees of success but still being completely shameless about it.

Hey babe, up for some Sports Entertainment™ tonight ;)?

Sounds about right.

Well, whatever it's called, there's genuinely nothing like it, both for better and for worse.

It's like the Wrestling Isn't Wrestling and Eyepatchwolf videos basically said. It's often completely ridiculous, occasionally absolutely vulgar, more often than not just plain bad, but when it's good, it's really ****ing good in a way that literally no other form of entertainment either is or can be.
