Donald. Clear ATG. Brilliant at home, Eng, WI and did very well in limited opportunities in the SC. Aus record could have been better, but was very good before his last series

Don't strongly think one is better than the other, but think Dravid might edge this. He was immense as an anchor batsman for India, in a similar vein as Border, but came in earlier up the batting order. That's generally going to make for a greater impact, imo. Think Border had less batting support, so there's very little in this, for mine.

Could go either way on this. I think Donald's averages benefit a tad from not having to go through those initial raw years a lot of fast bowlers go through and he got to debut right at his peak post isolation. Could argue he'd have got 100+ more wickets if he had those extra few years though. Love both, think they're under appreciated on this forum a bit.

Could argue he would improve his Australian record too.

Donald in particular gets underappreciated on this forum I think.

Two of the most aesthetically pleasing styles of play I've watched, despite being at opposite ends of the aggression spectrum. Modeled my own action after AD too; till date the most beautiful thing I've seen (the original, not my interpretation).

Lol, I read this thread as being Dravid vs Allan Border, instead of the nonsensical comparison it currently is. That said, can't switch my vote now, can we, gotta let it ride...

You could argue the opposite. 26 on debut and it took him a couple of years to learn the ropes in international cricket. Close to 30 by the time he was properly developed. His playing age range would be kind to spinners and bats. Full on quicks usually peak mid 20s and start to age out soon after 30 though.

I don't think it would have made a meaningful difference to his average either way. Just his wickets.

I agree, but at the end of day, excellence for longer is better than excellence for a shorter period.
You missed the point. Do you expect Donald to play as many years as Dravid or as many matches? Dravid was a batsman and Donald was a Right Arm Fast. By your definition, Dravid must be better than Dennis Lillee too. You can argue this from another POV but not longevity.
