The English middle order has been really poor. Can't only have one innings of substance in such a long series.

Do think they have a tougher job than the openers though. Starting against spin in India is often way harder than those initial overs vs pace.

In away tests/SENA countries kuldeep should play in place of Ashwin!
Ashwin highly overrated and kuldeep highly underrated!

foakes and bairstow should swap batting positions. foakes wont score anything at no.7 , more suited at no.5 and could prevent a collapse.
bairstow can slog with the tail
Bairstow is never a test player , and never a top class keeper, this should be his and the New Zealand fools last test match with England

Been saying this for ages, not the only one either. Makes obvious sense.

Would agree with that. Also, Bumrah has generally looked even better in his second spell when the ball starts to reverse.

No surprise that the two openers have the best average in the series, although Crawley has probably been the most consistent bat anyway.

without Bazball there isnt a Pope 100, a Duckett 100, Crawley doesnt play this well and none of these spinners who performed adequately get even called up

too many people lacking perspective ffs
Also agree, people forget how awful they were in the 2 years before McCullum/Stokes took over. The actual players haven't changed much, just a different mindset to get the most out of them.

They've been more competitive in India this time, a couple of terrible Day 3's have cost them.

What's the point of all that if it comes in a losing cause?
Everything you mentioned came in losing cause except for Pope 100
