We really need professional third umpires. I don't know if that is out (feel like it was), but we need a consistent method and process for evaluating those type of catches, and umpires that are actually trained to use it specifically.

I mean if that’s not out, fine, benefit of the doubt etc. but we see those calls given out often enough too. Chris Woakes got out to one like that against Sri Lanka in the WC. It’s frustrating

There was one with root yesterday that was given as an edge when it looked like pad wasn't there? Goes both ways.

I thought it was bat first but yeah I know the one you mean. I think in those instances they tend to err on side of ‘he’s hit it’ whereas with close catches we don’t seem to have any consistency. Not saying it’s just when England play either, it’s just that the Woakes one came to mind immediately

I like 'Tommy' as a bowler but he's not going to do much bowling 75mph. His fitness and stamina doesn't seem great so can't see him in this side for the long term.

**** me, what we desperately didn't need was Robinson in his slow, unthreatening mode.

Nothing doing from either end atm.

This could still very easily be 200 a/o. Need these two to go big.

Enjoying this Gill redemption arc but he needs to tighten up here and bat time.
