Two questions:

Which is the closest rivalry in terms of hardest to tell who is the best of the rivals?

And which is your favorite rivalry?

Murali and Warne is definitely the closest.

Why? Don't most consider Warne better?
I’m pretty sure on CW at least the prevailing opinion is they’re basically the same level but Warne’s batting wins him the spot.

The allrounder one is not close at all.

Tendulkar and Lara is kinda close, but most people have Tendulkar over Lara, its more of a clear split.

Warne/Murali is my personal favourite, because they’re competing for the top spot in their discipline and because they were actually fighting with each other for most test wickets in their careers, and swapped over the lead a couple times.

And Sachin/Lara too. And all their 4 careers kind of crossed.
Sachin/Lara isn't that rare a situation. You had Gavaskar/Viv just before that who would feature in many top tens.

Two of the only actual top tier spinners appearing same time and getting 700/800 wickets won't happen again.

Ashwin, Jadeja and Lyon have about 1,200 wickets or something. Obviously Kumble in the previous era with Warne and Murali.
Or is the qualifier top tier?
Oh unless you meant wickets each…reckon Ashwin might have hit those numbers with more tests. He’s at 5 WPM.

Isn't it?

Two batsmen vying for best ever / best after Bradman and ended up in that absolute top tier (at the time) who very actual contemporaries?

Bradman / Hammond

Then these two.

Hadlee and Imran are very close IMO. I can't pick a clear winner there like there is from the bats.

Every era has at least one bat vying for best after Bradman.

Warne/Murali doesn't come every generation. We got two in one.
