*Official* Australia tour of New Zealand Feb-Mar 2024

After his nine wickets O'Rourke must play against Australia. And he must bowl like the wind.

My team at this stage which I will revise after the conclusion of this current test

1 Conway
2 Latham
3 God
4 Young Disciple to God
5 Mitchell
6 Blundell
7 ???????????????????????
8 KJ
9 Henry
10 Southee
11 O'Rourke

We need an all rounder at 7. Phillips, his late two wickets notwithstanding, was not a robust bowling option today.
If Phillips does get picked it is off the back of being the best fielder in New Zealand at the moment and one of the better fielders going around in world cricket. Best fielder I have seen since Guptil.

Or another option is dropping Henry for Santner and asking Mitchell to bowl a fair share of overs as the 4th seamer. That is probably what I would settle on. This is all assuming Tim is untouchable.

1 Conway
2 Latham
3 God
4 Young Disciple to God
5 Mitchell (Must bowl 10 to 12 overs per day minimum)
6 Blundell
7 Phillips
8 Santner
9 KJ
10 Southee
11 O'Rourke

How can we post in this thread when my back passage will remain puckered all evening until we chase the runs down. Picking an XI for March can wait

Smith's opening makes it interesting for me especially wont be easy at the basin or Hagley
Hm, I had zero expectations of the 2019 tour there after the previous two series and still came away disappointed, so I'm assuming they will score 700/3 every first innings and we won't crack triple digits once.
