Because we have inexperienced, but also bad, spinners. It's just not going to happen.

Could get ugly now.
FC cricket is not going to improve the spin bowling options for Test cricket. If there are any kids with potential at 12 or so, the ECB should just get them rigourously coached by international class spin bowlers and playing in overseas conditions when they're old enough. Something else has to work better than whatever brings the likes of Hartley into international cricket.

Even with Pant out surely India have someone better than Bharat? Looked well below standard when we visited there last year.
Better keeper; maybe Saha. India wrote him off to quickly alongside Pujara and Rahane, should had definitely called him for WTC Final in place of Bharat. Better bat, there are a few, but their keeping.... Yeah, at that point, just go with Rahul.

Ah the old trick of popping out of the room for a few minutes has brought a wicket.

Always works.

FC cricket is going to help, if it's done properly. The whole problem is that County teams often don't pick specialist spinners meaning the promising ones around can never develop, and any person who is picked to bowl spin is usually picked first and foremost for their batting.

The rest of the suggestion is just silly, twelve year olds haven't fully grown and spinners often reach their peak when older than other players. There is simply a massive mismanagement of the talent that is there.

Let's just hope the ECB don't try to pull the wool over our eyes by saying the only way we can play better abroad is by reducing the number of games in the County Championship.

It's obvious why we can't win in India.

Tom Hartley or Simon Kerrigan - which Lancashire "spinner" was worse?
The difference may well end up being the different way their captains have treated them. Hartley has pulled back his figures back after starting at 10 an over. Now just 5s as Stokes kept him bowling. Cook took Kerrigan off never to return. Plus Kerrigan was picked at the wrong time amid a dip in his form.

Even on these pitches, I can't help thinking England would offer more threat with their traditional 3 seam and 1 spin attack. Would Robinson or Anderson would have worse figures than Rehan or Hartley?

Unless they're proper rank turners, may as well go with our best bowlers.
