Was a nice crowd last night. Who doesn't love a bit of Cricket in the South African Summer? The vibe at the stadium was quite good last year. Admittedly, I don't know how many people were paying attention to the game or just there to have a few beers and party.

Was decent with rain predicted yesterday and today is sold out.

Unsure if people come in for the cricket or trying to win their share of R2mil. But either way it seems to work.

Miller just got out and the commentators keep emphasizing the importance of that wicket. Pretty weird to hear Miller talked about as The Man as a neutral since Miller's always been a guy that's just there in the background despite being one of the best at his job.

Also I have to say pinch hitters are a profoundly terrible idea in T20s. They just end up wasting balls trying to muscle everything. Phelukwayo should always be coming in ahead of Allen. Pakistan sent Shaheen up the order today too and it went just as well.

You rate Phelukwayo above Allen as a T20 bat? I'm not so convinced.

Miller is going to be a massive lose for SA when he retires. I always wondered what his career would be like if he was forced to take more responsibility on a weaker batting line up for a larger part of his career.

I really don't rate Allen. Phelukwayo I'm not a fan of either but he pulls these cameos out of nowhere every now and then. He should be decent value in leagues imo.

I've wondered the latter too. Lower order is an inherently suboptimal use of a guy that explosive which is a weird thing to say considering that's what makes him so valuable as good top order batsmen are a lot easier to find than consistently quick scoring finishers but what I mean is that at an individual level a guy like Miller would do more damage the longer he bats especially with field restrictions. Especially in T20s. I wonder what would happen if you just let De Villiers and Miller open in a T20 and told them to go crazy.
